SFU has recently launched a survey called SFU: What's Next? Over the next year, SFU will engage in community conversations to help express SFU's vision, purpose, priorities and commitments, with the goal of developing a framework that aligns efforts across the University for the next five years.  If you wish to have your voice heard by SFU, please visit www.sfu.ca/whats-next to learn more.

Arbitrations and Grievances APSA advocates have several ongoing grievances and investigations on bullying and harassment, return to work and hours of work. We can’t give any details due to confidentiality issues. Please see this infographic on the Life of a Grievance to learn more about how the grievance process works.
Last year, our volunteers worked tirelessly on improving your working life at the University. They have attended countless meetings, volunteered hours on bargaining and worked on creating proposals, writing negotiation points, meeting with senior administration and defending members via Zoom, phone calls and email. In honour of National Volunteer Week (April 24-30), help us celebrate our 32 dedicated and hard-working volunteers. If you know any of these volunteers, please thank them by sending them an email to express your gratitude for the work they do on your behalf.
Each month, our APSA Advocates answer your questions about workplace challenges, the AD 10 policies and how they’re applied. Hello, I’m Laya Behbahani, the chair of APSA’s Advocacy Committee. On behalf of the committee, I’m answering your questions about vacation carry over and maternity leave.
