Volunteer positions open for APSA members:
Salary and Benefits Committee
This committee advises the Executive Committee on APSA members’ total compensation package matters. It prepares initial positions for compensation negotiations with the University and makes recommendations to the Executive regarding creating negotiating teams.
The committee is looking for members with a financial background. We’re also looking for a diverse group from many different areas of the University and at different position levels.
If you are interested, please contact aboden@apsacentral.ca.
Advocacy Committee
This committee assists and advises APSA members on their rights and entitlements (according to the AD 10 Policies) and work-related problems. It also provides representation as observers and advisors in disputes with the University, educates APSA members about SFU policies, handles grievances, and consults with legal counsel when necessary.
Time Commitment
The committee meets twice a month. However, advocacy training, grievance meetings, and other activities require a significant time commitment.
Please note that this particular committee deals with highly sensitive and confidential issues.
