Student Services is currently recruiting volunteers to participate as facilitators for SFU’s student leadership development program, ‘Passport to Leadership’ (P2L)

This is an excellent professional development opportunity for staff members who are interested in developing group facilitation skills and working with students in an enhanced or different capacity.

In return for your time, energy, and two-term commitment as a volunteer, you will benefit by:

  • Receiving in-depth facilitation training (foundational and advanced) and feedback;
  • Gaining hands-on experience with facilitating and public speaking;
  • Interacting with students outside of formal office settings;
  • Networking and building connections with staff members from across the university; and
  • Collaborating with colleagues outside of typical working relationships.

The dates for the fall session of P2L are as follows:

  • Monday: Cohort A (Burnaby) 10.30 am - 12.20 pm
  • Tuesday: Cohort B (Burnaby) 10:30 - 12.20 pm AND Cohort C (Burnaby) 1.30 - 3.20 pm

Please see the attached documents: the Facilitator Opportunity document outlines the time commitment required; the second is an application form. We are looking for facilitators to start in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020. The application deadline for those interested in starting in Fall 2019 is Friday, July 19th. (If Spring 2020 works better for you, I would encourage you to still submit your application.)
