CUPE Local 3338 at SFU will be removing services from, and picketing in
front of the Maggie Benson Centre (MBC) and the WAC Bennett Library
Building from 12:01 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. All CUPE members working in
those buildings will leave their work site during the strike time.
Your Rights
As an APSA member, you have the right to decide whether or not to cross the picket lines. APSA Strike Policy 10.15 outlines the responsibilities and procedures for APSA members during strikes.
Those who continue to
work in MBC or the Library between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. are considered to
be behind picket lines. Those who leave with CUPE or choose not to cross the picket lines
in the Library or MBC will, according to policy, be deducted pay until
they return to work.
