Office Assistant
APSA Grade 4
Full Time Continuing
Position Summary:
Provides general administrative support to the Association,
including the Association Director, Board and committees. Under the direction of the Association
Director, performs a variety of administrative tasks of moderate scope and
complexity, including:
- maintaining membership databases and e-mail
lists, - organizing all Association professional
development events and social functions, - maintaining filing system, filing documents,
both electronic and hard copy, - answering and routing inquiries,
- providing administrative support to the
Executive Director and to the Board of Directors, - recording and transcribing minutes for monthly
Board meetings and - maintaining Board and committee calendars,
arranging room bookings and catering and issuing reminders.
Qualifications:
- High
school graduation and one year of post-secondary education, including courses or
formal training in office procedures, or equivalent education and experience. - Minimum
of three years experience in a similar position. - 60
wpm keyboarding with a high degree of accuracy. - Ability
to use word processing, database, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail applications
(e.g. MS Word, FileMaker, Excel) in either a Macintosh or PC environment at an
intermediate level. - Excellent
organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work. - Excellent
interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. - Ability
to work independently and meet deadlines. - Ability
to exercise mature judgment and initiative and communicate with tact and
diplomacy. - Ability
to handle confidential/sensitive material with discretion. - Ability
to work as a member of a team. - Ability
to plan and organize events and workshops.
Salary Range: $40,897
– 48,836
Start Date: ASAP
