APSA and the University are pleased to announce that through the Joint Compensation Review Committee (JCRC) we have reached agreement on how to apply the funds awarded in the Colin Taylor award from the last round of contract negotiations.

Benefit Improvements:

1. The following improvements to benefits will come into effect January 1, 2019:

a. The visit fee maximum will be eliminated for the first 12 visits for each of:

  • Chiropractor
  • Massage Therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Podiatrist
  • Naturopath

    i.e. the 80% reimbursement applies from the first visit.

b. The current annual Psychologist maximum of $100 will be increased to $1,000.

c. Speech Therapist coverage is extended to include both group and one-on-one therapy.

2. One-time payment:

Employees who were APSA members on July 1, 2017, and continue to be APSA members, will receive a one-time lump sum payment based on their current FTE.

The individual amount will be approximately $800 for 1.0 FTE (pro-rated for part-time positions) and every effort is being made to have the amount paid by the end of this year.
