Congratulations on your role at SFU! The Administrative and Professional Staff Association is pleased to welcome you to the SFU community and your new professional association at the University.

You are now a part of the Administrative and Professional Staff Association (APSA). Your rights as an employee are governed by APSA's Basic Agreement and the AD 10 Policies and you have a variety of member services available to you as part of your membership. We:

  1. Negotiate your salary, benefits, pension and AD 10 policies. The AD 10 policies set out the terms and conditions of your employment, such as vacation, tuition waiver, probation.
     
  2. Provide advocates to represent you when there are issues with your terms and conditions of employment, or in the event a university policy has been breached or unfairly applied to you.
     
  3. Host professional development workshops and social events.

We will send you a welcome letter to join one of our orientation sessions. Please email us at assist@sfu.ca for the latest orientation dates.

Please note that we are currently holding APSA orientation sessions online and will be doing so until it is safe to have non-essential meetings according to government health officials, SFU Guidelines and WorkSafe BC.
