The APSA Board of Directors is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Boden to the position of APSA’s Executive Director.  

Andrew has a keen history with SFU.  A proud SFU alumnus, he has recently finished his twenty-fifth year working for the University.  His most recent role is as the senior associate director of Prospect Research and Records in University Advancement, where he led a team of seven. He is passionately interested in labour relations issues and has served as the chair of the APSA Advocacy committee for the last three years where he has helped represent numerous APSA members in a variety of challenging situations. Andrew has also volunteered on several SFU committees, including on behalf of the University during past collective bargaining.  In addition to his SFU committee work, he has served on the board of the Institute for Cross-cultural Exchange, a children's literacy charity, for the past fourteen years and served on the board of his self-managed strata for eight years, two of those as president. 


When he's not working, Andrew loves to write and has published numerous stories and essays in Canadian and U.S. reviews, one of which was shortlisted for Canada's Journey Prize. Andrew's other passions involve mental health advocacy, including co-editing the ground-breaking anthology Hidden Lives: Coming Out on Mental Illness, which was published in 2012 and re-issued in 2017.
